Say No to Terrorism, Advocacy Through the Victims of Terrorism
The “Say No to Terrorism” project, implemented by Milestone Society for the Special Persons from October 2024 to July 2025, represents a comprehensive intervention initiative funded by the European Union (EU) in collaboration with the United Nations Office on Drugs and Crime (UNODC) and the National Counter Terrorism Authority (NACTA). The project successfully identified, assessed, and facilitated 100 victims of terrorism through the provision of customized assistive devices and independent living training.
This project demonstrated the efficacy of comprehensive, personalized support for victims of terrorism, combining assistive technology with skills training to foster independence, dignity, and social reintegration. The peer-led model proved particularly effective in building trust and delivering culturally appropriate support. This initiative serves as a replicable framework for future interventions aimed at supporting terrorism-affected populations, emphasizing the critical importance of evidence-based, inclusive approaches that address both immediate needs and long-term recovery.
